WINTER INTENSIVE

frequently asked questions

HOW CAN I PAY FOR THE WINTER INTENSIVE?
You can pay either by check or Zelle. There's no need to contact us; you'll be emailed information on payments once completing the pre registration process.

IS THERE A PAYMENT PLAN?
No, we do not offer payment plans for our Winter Intensives.

IS THERE FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE?
We do not offer financial aid for this Winter Intensive.

WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
All refund requests must be submitted in writing. $160 of your tuition is a non-refundable registration fee. If you decide to drop out of the intensive before December 12, you will be refunded in full (less the $160 non-refundable registration fee). If you decide to drop out of the intensive between Dec 13 - Dec 31, DOVA will retain half of total fees owed + the $160 registration fee, and you will be refunded the balance. If you decide to drop out of the intensive after Dec 31, we cannot offer any refunds. If you need to drop out of the intensive because of a documented medical situation, an exception to this policy will be considered.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR THE WINTER INTENSIVE?
There is no dress code for our Winter Intensive, however we ask that you wear clothes and/or dancewear that don't obstruct your dancing and that you’re comfortable wearing to take class. Good options are sweatpants, tank tops, or long sleeves. We strongly recommend that you bring knee pads as well.

ARE YOU OFFERING DROP-IN CLASSES?

As of now, for health and safety reasons, we will not be offering drop-in classes for this year's Winter Intensive.

DO I HAVE TO AUDITION?
No auditions are necessary for admittance into the Winter Intensive.  Admittance is on a first-come, first-served basis, so the sooner you register, the better your chances are of being accepted into the Winter Intensive.

HOW LARGE ARE THE CLASSES?
Class sizes depend on the total enrollment. In past years, technique classes generally range from 20-25 people per class.

CAN I GET COLLEGE CREDIT FOR TAKING THE WINTER INTENSIVE?
We do not offer college credit, however we have been able to work one-on-one with students who have coordinated with their individual universities. We will gladly provide documentation detailing your involvement in the Winter Intensive, so that you can negotiate with your college to get credit.

I'M COMING FROM OUT-OF-TOWN. WHEN SHOULD I PLAN TO ARRIVE SO THAT I DON’T MISS ANYTHING? DO YOU PROVIDE HOUSING?
Please plan to arrive at Hunter College between 8:30am - 9am on the first day. Our welcome/orientation activities begin at 9am. We do not provide housing for the Winter Intensive.
